I met Jo in the year 2000 when I left school and started my apprenticeship in Travel Services working for a tour operator. She was the best NVQ Assessor!
Upon completing my 2 years training and gaining my qualifications, I went to work for Jo at Training For Travel, working in the office, all the usual admin things including a very early form of e-learning eventually becoming the admin team supervisor.
I was there for 3 years until I got married and moved away with my husband who was in the Army at the time.
My role for the next 4 years was in a training department for a large certification and verification organisation where along with admin of organising courses from booking places, training materials, paperwork and exam processing I also created and managed their e-learning programme developing courses and maintaining the system for users.
We then moved around a bit, started a family and my husband decided to leave the Forces.
We settled down and when my youngest started school, Jo asked me to come onboard at NTA and help with their new e-learning project.
I was thrilled to be back in work and joined in January 2019.
I now maintain the e-learning website and provide a helpdesk for learners if they have any issues. I also update the main NTA website, blog and social media – go give our Facebook page a like and say Hi! www.facebook.com/northerntrainingacademy
Spending so much time working at the laptop during the day, I love family days out making memories at the weekends and school holidays or just curling up with a book and a cup of tea!
